Participants will assist the Virginia City Institute for Preservation in testing and documenting a variety of historic finishes from the 1860s. Walk the streets of the authentic mining towns of Virginia City and neighboring Nevada City.

Trip details
Arrive at Nevada City hotel on Sunday, the day before work begins. Days 1-5 Test and document historic finishes under the tutelage of Jeff McDonald of the Preservation Institute. The weekend is open for touring the area. Lodging is not included in this trip; participants must make their own accommodation arrangements with one of the local B&Bs or hotels.
