For seven years, ecologist Dr. Tim Graham (U.S. Geological Survey) has collected a rich complement of invertebrates and amphibians from this wilderness creek. Now you can help Graham sort through invertebrate samples in the lab, sensitive indicators of the history of human disturbance on Salt Creek. Days in the lab will be complemented by scenic hikes in the area, including jaunts to swimming holes, petroglyphs, and the incomparable Delicate Arch. An optional river rafting trip, guided by experienced naturalists, will complete the experience. This is an outstanding opportunity to gain a full appreciation of sensitive desert ecology while you work to conserve it.
