ITINERARY IN DETAIL:
DAY 01 Arrive DELHI
After a warm welcome at Delhi International Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel.
Overnight: The Oberoi (Deluxe rooms)
DAY 02 DELHI
In the morning, visit New Delhi, a city designed and built by the British in the 1920’s. Take an afternoon tour of Old Delhi, exploring the Red Fort, Jama Masjid mosque, with its marble domes and splendid minarets, Raj Ghat (where Gandhi was cremated), the Ashoka Pillar and Chandni Chowk Bazaar, where craftsmen sell their wares. This evening, you will enjoy a welcome dinner.

DAY 03 Fly DELHI-UDAIPUR
This morning, you will fly to Udaipur and check in to the luxurious Lake Palace Hotel. A late afternoon cruise will take you out on Lake Pichola. This evening, enjoy an exclusive candlelight dinner.

DAY 04 UDAIPUR
Today you will visit the impressive City Palace and Jagdish Temple before continuing your drive to Ranakpur and its 15th century Jain temples. The Ranakpur Jain temples were built during the reign of the liberal and gifted monarch Rana Kumbha in the 15th century. An enormous basement covers a 48,000-square foot area. There are four subsidiary shrines, twenty-four pillared halls and domes supported by over four hundred columns. The total number of columns is 1,444, all of which are intricately carved with no two being alike. After driving back to Udaipur, you will have the rest of the day free.

DAY 05 Fly UDAIPUR-JAIPUR
You have an early morning flight to Jaipur, checking into the Raj Vilas Hotel on arrival. The remainder of the morning is free to enjoy the hotel and perhaps be pampered at the spa. In the afternoon, depart on a tour of Jaipur, including the City Palace and Observatory. You will also have time to shop for jewellery, carpets and other handicrafts.

DAY 06 JAIPUR
This morning, enjoy a thrilling elephant-back ride to the glorious hilltop fortress of Amber. You will spend the morning exploring this fascinating monument and return to the hotel for lunch. The afternoon is at leisure.

DAY 07 JAIPUR-SAWAI MADHOPUR (RANTHAMBORE) This morning, drive to Ranthambore and, on arrival, enjoy lunch at Vanya Vilas Lodge. Nestled in the Aravali hills, Ranthambore is India’s most famous tiger Reserve.

DAY 08 RANTHAMBORE
Morning and afternoon game drives are on offer, with time in between to relax and enjoy the facilities at the luxurious lodge.

DAY 09 RANTHAMBORE-AGRA
In the morning, drive to Agra, visiting Keoladeo National Park en route. Once the royal hunting preserve of the Bharatpur rulers, it is now a beautiful bird sanctuary. After lunch, drive to Agra.

DAY 10 AGRA
Agra, with its laid-back life style and its immense wealth of architecture, handicrafts and jewellery, is amongst the most remarkable cities of the world. You will visit the Taj Mahal, the most perfect architectural monument in the world, erected by Shah Jahan in memory of his favourite wife, Queen Mumtaz. In addition, you will view the fort at Agra with its impressive elephant gates.

DAY 11 AGRA-DELHI
This morning, visit the beautiful walled city of Fatehpur Sikri, built to commemorate the birth of Akbar’s son. The complex was completed in 1574 but abandoned only fourteen years later. Of particular interest are the red stone mosques, courtyards and the palace where Akbar reputedly played chess using slave girls as pawns. Afterwards, you will continue on to Delhi.
