Day 1: Firehole River / Fountain Paint Pots / Old Faithful
Meet in Bozeman and shuttle into Yellowstone National Park • Stop at the Firehole River for swimming and tubing followed by lunch • Take a short hike to explore Lower Geyser Basin and the geothermal Fountain Paint Pots • An easy hike explores a bird’s eye view of Grand Prismatic spring continuing on to 200 foot Fairy Falls • Then drive to the historic Old Faithful Inn for dinner and a chance to watch Old Faithful erupt under the stars
Day 2: Upper Geyser Basin / Yellowstone Lake
Begin with a hike through the Upper Geyser Basin to Observation Point for great geyser views • Enjoy a picnic lunch at Gull Point overlooking Yellowstone Lake, North America’s largest high alpine water body • Embark on an extraordinary note card-guided “solo nature walk” • Check into the Lake Yellowstone Hotel • Enjoy beach fun and games and then some free time to relax or stroll by the lake before dinner • Tonight’s elegant dinner is in the Lake Hotel dining room
Day 3: Hayden Valley / Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone
This morning drive through the Hayden Valley on the lookout for bison, elk, grizzly bears, wolves, and eagles • Set off on a three-mile hike ending along the rim of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone • Descend Uncle Tom’s Stairs down to the brink of the 308-foot Lower Falls • Enjoy lunch at 8,800 feet • This afternoon, hike to the top of Mount Washburn for a panoramic view of the entire park • On our drive to the Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel we’ll stop and look for the Agate Peak wolfpack that frequent Dunraven Pass • Tonight dinner on your own at Mammoth Hot Springs
Day 4: Lamar Valley / Mammoth Hot Springs
Rise early to catch the sunrise and prime wildlife viewing on a hike up Bunsen Peak • Stop at a bluff for brunch and a great opportunity to spot Bighorn Sheep • Stroll down amid the multicolored limestone terraces of Mammoth Hot Springs • Visit Fort Yellowstone Museum or head to the Boiling River for a hot springs soak • Dinner in the town of Gardiner
Day 5: Yellowstone River / Absaroka Mountains
The morning begins with an exciting whitewater rafting adventure on the Yellowstone River • Lunch along the river, then enjoy the scenic drive through Paradise Valley to the Flying Diamond Ranch • Saddle up for a gentle horseback ride up Pine Creek and into the Absaroka Mountains • Head to the romantic Chico Hot Springs Resort for a relaxing soak in the mineral waters • Tonight we gather in the historic dining room for our farewell gourmet dinner
Day 6: Chico Hot Springs / Return to Bozeman
Sleep late and enjoy a leisurely morning soak at Chico Hot Springs Resort • Stroll in the gardens, indulge in a spa treatment, or enjoy a final scenic hike before returning to the Bozeman airport
