Of course the delights of Paris are too many to name-every visitor will find his or her own favorites. The city is eminently strollable, and the walking tour commenced at Place de la Bastille might continue all the way up the Right Bank and back down the Left. But the city's grand scale and notorious traffic make the use of its excellent public transportation de rigueur for Parisians and visitors alike. Place de la Nation is the site of a major Metro and RER station, making access to all Paris as well as to and from airports by train a snap. The Metro can whisk you into the city center in minutes, or in the opposite direction to the Bois de Vincennes with the famed Parc Zoologique de Paris, the Chateau de Vincennes, and vast open spaces for relaxation or exercise. And that's only the beginning...

Christian Dewett is a recently renovated, sunny and tastefully decorated apartment on the second floor of an attractive early 20th century building. The bedroom with a queen size bed, comfortably sleeps two. The living/dining room offers a sofa bed (which can sleep two additional guests) and a pleasantly sun-lit dining area for four. The kitchen is well equipped: stove, microwave, dishwasher and ready to accommodate essays in French cuisine, if a guest is so inspired. The bathroom is complete with shower. A television set is available, as is a telephone for local calls only. Small grocery shops as well as numerous "patisseries" (bakeries), supermarkets of which the Supermarket Casino at the Place de la Nation is open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. A typical open air market a few blocks away is available on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
