Join us for a welcome dinner tonight.

Day 2 – Explore Vatican City

Vatican City is full of fascinating history and artistic masterpieces. Tour magnificent St. Peter’s Basilica and view Michelangelo’s famous ceiling in the Sistine Chapel – which the artist originally resisted doing because he considered himself a sculptor, not a painter. A visit to the Vatican is a highlight of all Italy tours.

Day 3 –Experience Medieval Orvieto

Charming Orvieto is a destination seldom visited by other Italy tours. Discover its Etruscan roots and medieval past – as well as what lies under the city in the amazing Orvieto Underground. Day 5 – Travel to Venice aboard the High-Speed Eurostar

A rail journey aboard the Eurostar takes you to Venice, a city of islands where the roads are paved with water, and a treasured memory of many Italy tours. Marvel at massive St. Mark’s Square and explore the beautiful Basilica di San Marco. Tour the Doges’ Palace and learn why a small bridge high above a canal is called the Bridge of Sighs. Ride in a gondola and travel through the canals as the Venetians have done for centuries. Sample some gelato, served warmer than traditional ice cream.

Meals: Breakfast, lunch

Lodging: The Westin Excelsior, Venice Lido Resort, Venice, Italy

Day 6 – Experience Venice Your Way

If there is any city in Europe that is perfect for just wandering, seeing and experiencing, it is Venice. Follow the small, cobbled streets and alleyways to see where they lead; visit a museum or just feed the pigeons in Saint Mark’s Square. Join us for a farewell dinner tonight as this most memorable of family Italy tours draws to close.
