It's easy to feel you've slipped into the past when you visit the countries of Southeast Asia. Not only are they naturally beautiful, with lush green deltas and soaring mountains, but their ancient cultures remain intact and the stunning architectural monuments evoke a visceral sense of ages past.

You'll start with a tour of the exotic Golden Triangle, the mountainous region along the Mekong River where Myanmar, Laos, and Thailand meet, then enter into serene Laos, where you'll take a boat journey along the peaceful Mekong River, explore Luang Prabang, and visit Vientiane, with its tree-lined boulevards and old Buddhist temples. Then you'll fly to Cambodia for the highlight of any travel experience in Southeast Asia - the remarkable Khmer temple complex of Angkor, one of the world's most incredible architectural wonders and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You'll explore these enigmatic ruins for four full days - more than other group tour offers - for an altogether moving experience.

Throughout the trip you'll stay in beautiful hotels (mostly four- and five-star) of exceptional character and ambiance.

  • Visit tribal areas in northern Laos on two-day cruise down the Mekong River - an MTS exclusive!
