Itinerary: Treasures of Indochine

Day 1 - Meet in Bangkok, Thailand.

Days 2-3 - Fly to Chiang Rai and drive to the Golden Triangle. The next day is free to relax and enjoy the amenities of the hotel (pool, tennis, massages) or be more active and hike on local nature trails or hop aboard an elephant (if available) for a ride through the jungle.

Days 4-5 - Cross the border into Laos and take a leisurely two-day riverboat journey along the Mekong River through some of the most isolated regions of the country, visiting minority tribal villages and the famous Pak Ou Caves with their priceless Buddha images. Along the way you'll stay at a beautiful lodge on the shores of the Mekong. End in Luang Prabang, renowned for its Buddhist temples.

Days 6-7 - Visit the town's historic monuments and picnic by Kuang Sy Falls.

Day 8 - Fly to Vientiane and visit its monuments and local markets.

Days 9-10 - Fly to Phnom Penh, capital of Cambodia, and explore the city's many sites, including the Silver Pagoda, a showcase of Khmer art.

Days 11-14 - Fly to Siem Reap, former capital of the Khmer empire. Explore the vast temples of Angkor, including Angkor Wat, the walled city of Angkor Thom, and Ta Prohm, a mystical site entangled with encroaching vegetation.

Days 15-16 - Morning at Angkor, afternoon flight to Bangkok. Depart Bangkok on Day 16.
