Headquartered in Incline Village, Nevada on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe, our people have traveled on seven continents, visiting 129 countries. As a group they represent a depth of travel knowledge that is unequaled and every bit of their experience, is yours to share.
Our Staff
Toni Neubauer
Traveler, humanitarian, and teacher, Toni is the guiding spirit behind Myths and Mountains, and founder of READ Global, a nonprofit global organization dedicated to empowering communities by increasing literacy and access to education through the creation, advancement and leveraging of a replicable library-based model for sustainable economic development. This year, READ Nepal was selected as recipient of the 2006 Access to Learning Award from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Toni received the Walk the Talk Global Citizen Award.
For more than 20 years, Toni has traveled within Asia and Southeast Asia, getting to know the people and their way of life. These intimate experiences are the heart and soul of every Myths and Mountains trip, and this is what makes each journey so unique. Toni speaks five languages, holds a Doctorate in Educational Administration as well as a Masters in French Literature, and has visited 57 countries around the world.
Allie Almario
Extensive travel throughout South America has given Allie a unique perspective on this enormously popular destination. She’s mingled with locals, visited their homes, learned their customs, and along the way has become an extremely knowledgeable insider, all of which comes to light in every trip to the Southern hemisphere. Additionally, Allie has traveled to all seven continents and more than 60 countries, and is the former president of the Galapagos International Tour Operators Association.
Katie Post
She’s a diver, a backpacker, a skier, and a sailor. All of these skills have taken Katie on whirlwind adventures around the world, particularly to the Caribbean, Central America and Micronesia. Now she’s responsible for handling the detailed logistics of several hundred travelers heading off on their own whirlwind adventures around the world.
Jim Hammerel
Talk about wearing two hats! Jim oversees the Myths and Mountains database, handles web marketing and management, and then puts on his READ hat to take care of financial operations, IT-related tasks, and project development. Whew!
Kate Fenner
Traveling on five continents through numerous countries including Peru, Cambodia, and Laos for Myths and Mountains, plus navigating her way around QuickBooks as she oversees the company’s finances, has made Kate a true explorer, adventurer and financial guru.
Paul Chesloff
Paul sets the creative direction in the marketplace that has helped make Myths and Mountains a recognizable and respected world tour operator.
